Before & after – bike inspection with full cleaning
A well-kept bike not only looks better but is also easier to maintain and check. Below you can see a real example of a bike before and after a bike inspection including full cleaning at BikeShop Friesen.

Tire, drivetrain and chain – before and after the inspection
Tire, drivetrain and chain are checked and cleaned during the bike inspection. The example of an Orbea cargo bike shows the difference particularly clearly – from heavily soiled and rusty to clean and ready to ride again.

Important note on cleaning
Cleaning and care results depend on the bike's condition, age and level of dirt. The aim is always the best possible and gentlest cleaning. Existing signs of use, discolouration, corrosion, material wear or stuck-on dirt cannot be completely removed by cleaning. Actual results may vary from bike to bike.
What we check during the inspection.
During our bike inspection we check every safety-relevant and technical component of your bike. Minor adjustments and tweaks are done directly as part of the inspection.
Brake system and braking performance
We check brake pads, brake cables and braking force for wear and correct adjustment – for safe and reliable stopping in every situation.
Gears and shifting
The derailleur, shift cables and gear changes are adjusted so that gears shift precisely, without skipping or rubbing.
Chain, cassette and drivetrain
We check the chain and cassette for wear (elongation) and clean or lubricate the drivetrain for a smooth, quiet pedal stroke.
Tyres and tyre pressure
Tyre tread, casing condition and air pressure are checked and adjusted if needed – for optimal grip and lower rolling resistance.
Wheels and spokes
We check the wheels for true running and inspect spoke tension for smooth, stable ride behaviour.
Headset and steering
The headset is checked for play and smooth movement, so that steering responds precisely and without rattling.
Bottom bracket and crankset
Bottom bracket and cranks are checked for play and smooth rotation, so that power transfer while pedalling stays optimal.
Bolted connections
All safety-relevant bolted connections on the frame and components are checked for tightness and re-torqued if needed.
Safety-relevant components
We inspect the frame, fork and other load-bearing components for cracks, deformation or other safety-relevant damage.
Lights and reflectors
Front and rear lights, as well as all reflectors, are checked for function and compliance with German road traffic regulations.

Standard inspection 45 to 90 minutes. With full cleaning 1.5 to 2 hours. Many customers drop off in the morning and pick up the same day.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Walk-in mornings 9 am–12 pm, no appointment needed. Afternoons a quick call or WhatsApp message ahead is recommended.
Are necessary repairs carried out directly?
We inspect your bike thoroughly and note what should be done. We then call you, explain what we found, and clarify together whether the repair should go ahead. Minor adjustments like brake tuning are included in the inspection price.
