FAQ

Frequently asked questions from Neukölln

Is BikeShop Friesen a bike workshop in Neukölln?

Our shop is in Kreuzberg, right on the border with Neukölln. Customers from Neukölln are very welcome and reach us in about 5–8 minutes by bike from Richardplatz or Weserstraße.

How do I reach you from Richardplatz?

Fastest by bike via Karl-Marx-Straße, Hermannplatz and Gneisenaustraße — around 10 minutes. A quieter route runs via Weichselstraße and the Maybachufer along the Landwehrkanal in about 12 minutes. By transit: U7 Karl-Marx-Str. → U7 Gneisenaustraße, then 3 min on foot.

I live in the Schillerkiez next to Tempelhofer Feld — what's the best route?

Via Herrfurthstraße → Hermannstraße → Gneisenaustraße you're here in a good 10 minutes. On windy days, cutting across Tempelhofer Feld (Oderstraße entrance → Columbiadamm → Mehringdamm) is a nice traffic-free alternative.

Do I need an appointment for a bike repair from Neukölln?

In the morning between 9am and 12pm walk-in is open. For afternoon slots we recommend a quick call or WhatsApp ahead so we can reserve a slot for you.

Do you also repair e-bikes for customers from Neukölln?

Yes, we carry out mechanical e-bike repairs: brakes, gears, chain, tyres, bearings and inspections. We don't do motor or software work, but we know the specifics of e-bikes.

The way to you crosses cobblestones — is that a problem for my bike?

For most everyday bikes, no. On narrow road-bike tyres, suspension forks with loose headsets or older spoked wheels it's worth detouring via Karl-Marx-Straße or Kottbusser Damm — both fully asphalted.
